Paper face

Imagine a face

one that walks with all.

It stops neither at one or two,

it talks to all including you.

It has seen the bottom of the ocean,

noted – with tattoos inspired by thoughts high.

Tie knots it does.

Pigeons or doves.

It uses gloves for neither but certainly sees the difference.

Glazed with spring water its eyes reflect the truth.

Crusted its cheeks be from the tears,

When people saw that reflection and wanted to claim tooth.

Even so the face never whimpered nor sighed.

Tides reseeded as it walked,

not in fear but as it talked,

the ocean wanted to see and not just caress its feet.

It was as united to man as any sea or river

which is why it is a paper face

able to absorb any colour.
